Cobra Kai, the popular hit show based on The Karate Kid film series, its released date moved up from January 8 to January 1. This announcement came out a few weeks after the official trailer for the third season of the show was released. The highly anticipated third season of Cobra Kai has been in development for quite some time. Fans are especially eager to see how Johnny Lawrence’s (William Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso’s (Ralph Macchio) story will continue after the shocking events of the previous season. The hype surrounding Cobra Kai season 3 has been built up since it has been an entire year since the finale of the second season.

The official announcement of Cobra Kai’s third season being moved up from January 8 to January 1 was first shown to the public through a 20-second video on YouTube. In the video, we see archive footage of Lawrence in his apartment on a computer. As he scrolls down through his Netflix streaming account, he finds out that Cobra Kai season 3 will be released on January 8. Unwilling to be that patient, the karate instructor simply states that the wait is too long before deleting the number 8 and putting a 1 instead, effectively making the official premiere date January 1, 2021. Johnny nods his head in both approval and satisfaction as the brief clip ends with the promise of an earlier premiere date for the long awaited third season of Cobra Kai. Most of the cast will return for season 3, including Zabka as Lawrence, Macchio as Daniel LaRusso, Xolo Maridueña as Miguel Diaz, Tanner Buchanan as Robby Keene and Martin Kove as John Kreese. The only cast member confirmed to not be returning is Nichole Brown as Aisha Robinson, who revealed that the people who make the show did not need her for the season.

Fans are extremely excited as they will finally be able to see the long-awaited third season of Cobra Kai on January 1 on Netflix.
