Big Brother kicked off its 15th season on Wednesday night, introducing the 16 new contestants who will live together while competing for the $500,000 in prize money. The show also introduced two new twists to the Big Brother format. For one, viewers watching the show will be able to pick a weekly MVP. Secondly, that MVP will be able to select a third person to put up for elimination.

Soon after settling into the retro chic styled digs, the contestants began checking one another out. It was quickly established that college student Aaryn Gries and lifeguard David Girton, bartender Kaitlin Barnaby and Jeremy McGuire, and entrepreneur Nick Uhas and real estate agent Amanda Zuckerman will likely be coupling up over the summer.

It didn’t take long for alliances to begin forming on the premiere either. Boat shop associate Jeremy formed two – one with Howard Overby and railroad conductor Spencer Clawson, and another with Jessie Kowalski and David. Jeremy, who lost the Head of Household competition on purpose to get the never-not pass, conveniently suggested that the alliances stay private.

McCrae Olson, a 23-year-old pizza delivery guy, ultimately won the first Head of Household, beating out former winner Rachel Reilly’s sister Elissa Slater in the process. Although Elissa was tightlipped about the Big Brother family history, the rest of the house soon became aware.

Other housemates include professor Andy Heron, property appraiser Judd Daughtery, political consultant and married mom Helen Kim, New Yorker GinaMarie Zimmerman and speech therapist Candice Stewart.

When Big Brother returns on Sunday, McCrae will pick two contestants to put up for elimination. Tune in to CBS at 8/7c to find out whom he chooses.
