Matt Gaetz’s wife, Ginger Luckey Gaetz, caught internet users’ attention when she posted a photo on Thursday of her husband with Argentine President Xavier Milei at Mar-a-Lago.

The photo, posted to X, was accompanied by the cryptic caption, “Strong men create good times.”

WHO IS GINGER LUCKEY GAETZ?

President-elect sent shockwaves when he announced Gaetz as his attorney general pick on Wednesday. The former Florida congressman resigned immediately after, effectively shutting down a lengthy House Ethics Committee probe for misconduct and drug use.

Gaetz’s resignation, hours after his nomination, was announced just as the House Ethics Committee was in the final stages of its investigation. The probe was then halted since the committee lost jurisdiction over the matter.

At the center of a yearlong Justice Department investigation into trafficking allegations around Gaetz was a woman in her twenties who testified that Gaetz had relations with her when she was 17 in high school.

Former Seminole County tax collector Joel Greenberg, a friend of Gaetz, currently serves an 11-year prison sentence for crimes involving trafficking the young woman. In May 2021, Greenberg reached a deal with investigators in which he pleaded guilty to multiple crimes, which included introducing the woman to other adult men when she was a minor.

According to Greenberg’s plea deal, he met the woman online in 2017, and the two met in houses and hotels in the Middle District of Florida, where he introduced her to other adult men. Court documents say that the woman was “represented that she was an adult” on the website where she met Greenberg. Greenberg acknowledged that he “acted in reckless disregard of the fact that the Minor was less than 18 years old when he engaged in commercial sex acts” as he had a “reasonable opportunity to observe” that she was a minor.

The House of Ethics Committee was set to meet this week to decide whether or not a final report would be released on the matter; this meeting has effectively been void.

Ginger is the sister of Oculus VR founder Palmer Luckey. She majored in economics and accounting at UC Santa Barbara and took online classes at Harvard Business School.

Ginger met Gaetz at a fundraiser at Mar-a-Lago. The two eloped in 2021.
