Beverly Hills 90210 actress Tori Spelling has updated that despite her estranged relationship with ex-husband Dean McDermott, he is still “One of my biggest supporters.”

At the Gala of the Stars event at the Beverly Hilton on October 9, Spelling told People that she and McDermott are committed to co-parenting their five children. Spelling said, “We’re really amicable…I know in Hollywood people think divorces have to be ugly, ours or not. We co-parent really well, we’re good friends, and he’s one of my biggest supporters.”

These claims might seem odd given that Spelling has demanded spousal support from McDermott – and McDermott has filed for support from Spelling.

After a 17-year-long marriage, Spelling filed for divorce from McDermott in March of this year, citing irreconcilable differences; the official date of separation was reported as June 17, 2023. The two share their children Liam, 17, Stella, 16, Hattie, 12, Finn, 12, and Beau, 7.

Spelling gave deeper insight into parenting and how she juggles her career and family obligations, admitting, “It’s not easy.” She continued, “But hey, we all do it. My kids are really supportive. The older ones take care of the little one now, so it’s a built-in kind of community in our house, but the hardest was being away when I was doing Dancing with the Stars, because that was a full time every day, five hours a day, and just all-consuming. So everything else is easy after that.”

She shared, “I’m just back to being a mom now…[my kids] were really proud of me, especially my older one…They were just like, ‘We know this is a big fear and you step out of your comfort zone. You’re such an example for us and you can do anything you want to do, and it makes us believe so can we.’”

Spelling was eliminated from Dancing with the Stars on September 24.
