Conor Kennedy, RFK’s Grandson, Spent Time Fighting Russians In Ukraine
Conor Kennedy, known as a member of the Kennedy family and the son of the lawyer and recent anti-vaccine conspiracist Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has said that he returned from Ukraine after spending time there fighting as a soldier in secret.
He is the grandson American political icon Robert F. Kennedy.
Earlier this month, Kennedy wrote an Instagram post saying he enlisted in Ukraine’s International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine soon after he had learned of the Russian Invasion, as he was “moved by what I saw happening in Ukraine.”
“I had no prior military experience and wasn’t a great shot, but I could carry heavy things and learned fast. I was also willing to die there,” Kennedy also wrote, adding that only one person knew where he was and he didn’t reveal his name while in Ukraine.
He didn’t clarify how long he was in Ukraine but spoke highly of those he encountered. Kennedy referred to international recruits and the Ukrainian people as “true freedom fighters,” saying many citizens “have lost everything in their long struggle against oligarchy.”
“Join the legion, help on the border, or send medical supplies,” Kennedy urged people.
According to data from Ukraine, about 20,000 volunteers from 58 countries enlisted to help fight against the Russian invasion.
Conor’s father also spoke about the situation on Megyn Kelly Live. He said that he and his wife, actress Cheryl Hines had no clue where he was and that Conor asked his dad to limit his questioning while it was happening.
He had expected Conor to begin a new job at a law firm and spend some time living with him in the summer of this year, and only realized what he must have done when they started tracking the locations on Conor’s credit card bills.
“He’s been in firefights, in mainly nighttime, and a lot of artillery fights with the Russians,” RFK Jr. claimed.
