Golden Globes 2019: Patricia Arquette Bleeped In Acceptance Speech, Celebs In Audience Get Flu Shots [VIDEO]
Oscar-winning actress Patricia Arquette won a Golden Globe on Sunday night for Best Actress in a Limited TV Series for her role in the Showtime series Escape at Dannemora.
Arquette, 50, is a five-time nominee who previously won a Globe in 2015 for her supporting role in the film Boyhood.
Directed by Ben Stiller, Escape at Dannemora is based on a true story of two men (played by Paul Dano and Benicio Del Toro) who planned an escape from a prison in New York. Arquette plays a prison guard who become romantically involved with the two convicts who flee the facility.
Arquette thanked and praised many people in her acceptance speech, including Stiller — who presented the award alongside Jamie Lee Curtis — Del Toro, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, and her personal team of stylists and hair and makeup assistants.
The actress thanked the HFPA for “championing filmmakers from all over the world and championing our work.” She also said, “no matter what language you speak, you need no translation for what we do.”
Arquette complained about the fake teeth she was given for her TV role and appeared to curse as she was bleeped out on the telecast.

“How many f—ed up teeth do you need?” Arquette joked.
Arquette beat out Connie Britton (Dirty John), Amy Adams (Sharp Objects), Regina King (Seven Seconds) and Laura Dern (The Tale) to win the award.
Celebrities in the audience were also given flu shots as a form of protection. The hip-hop song “Shots” by LMFAO feat. Lil Jon played as attendants with syringes came out and stars like Ken Jeong and Willem Dafoe seemed utterly delighted, laughing at the surprise.
Among the other first big winners of the night was former Game of Thrones star Richard Madden, who won Best Actor in a Drama Series for his role in the Netflix show Bodyguard.
The FX show The Americans, which stars Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys, won the Best Drama Series award for its final season.
