Ivanka Trump attended a showing of Come From Away with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Broadway.

JUSTIN TRUDEAU INVITES IVANKA TRUMP TO BROADWAY SHOW

The show, written by a Canadian husband-and-wife duo Irene Sankoff and David Hein, tells the true story of more than 6,500 people on 38 different planes on Sept. 11 who were forced to land in Newfoundland. The focus of the play is on how the residents of the small town of Gander embraced their new neighbors despite differences, and cared for the stranded travelers for days.

Trudeau had announced he planned to see the show with his wife, but invited the First Daughter instead. The show opened on Broadway on March 12 after successful runs in Ontario, San Diego, Seattle, and Washington, D.C.

“The world gets to see what it is to lean on each other and be there for each other through the darkest times,” Trudeau said, addressing the crowd. “There is no relationship quite like the friendship between Canada and the United States. This story, this amazing show, is very much about that, and it’s about friendship as well.”
