Ivanka Trump And Chelsea Clinton Put Their Friendship On Hold Amid Presidential Election
Chelsea Clinton and Ivanka Trump have decided to put their friendship on hold due to the presidential campaign battle between their parents, according to reports on Thursday.
Ivanka Trump and Chelsea Clinton Cool Off Their Friendship
Chelsea and Ivanka were introduced by their husbands a few years ago, and were soon seen around Manhattan together, posing on the red carpet at events like the Glamour Women of the Year Awards.
Now as Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump battle it out on the campaign trail of the presidential election — both daughters, sources close to them said, have chosen to no longer be seen together in public during the election.
Chelsea and Ivanka don’t blame each other, a friend of both women said. “I don’t think Chelsea thinks Ivanka is controlling her dad,” said the friend. “I don’t think she blames Ivanka.”
Associates revealed that while Chelsea and Ivanka hit it off because of shared struggles growing up in the public eye and their fathers’ sex scandals, the two women are the kind of friends who see each other for dinner a few times a year, not those who text each other all day.
“They genuinely relate to each other and care about each other and ran in the same circles,” said one associate.
Ivanka has supported her father on his campaign trail, but has made it clear she is not part of his campaign and her focus is on the Trump organization.
Like Ivanka, Chelsea, insiders said, is trusted by her parents when it comes to running the Clinton Foundation. She does not participate in the day-to-day of the campaign’s decision making and offers her advice personally to her mother.
