With his shirt-sleeves rolled up and his tie loose around the neck, President Barack Obama addressed his 2012 Presidential campaign staff following the results of the 2012 presidential election and gave a heartfelt speech expressing his gratitude for all of their contributions, even going so far as referring to his team as the “ripples of hope."

“You’re just going to do great things,” Obama says in the video clip that has since gone viral. “And that’s why, even before last night’s results I felt that the work that I had done in running for office had come full circle. Because what you guys have done means that the work that I’m doing is important. And I’m really proud of that. I’m really proud of all of you. “

He then began to tear up, which prompted those in attendance to break out in applause. Once the group quieted back down, Obama emphasized how bright the future seemed for his young team, and how much he was looking forward to seeing what they would accomplish. Finally, he gave his group one final inspirational vote of confidence.

“The last four years, when people asked me about ‘How do you put up with this or that,’ the frustrations of Washington, I just think about you. I think about what you guys are going to do. And that’s the source of my hope.”
