Rapper 50 Cent vowed to stop President Donald Trump from pardoning Sean Combs.

During a press conference in the Oval Office last week, a reporter reminded Trump that, when he hosted The Apprentice in 2012, he said that Combs “was a good friend.”

“He has since found himself in some very serious legal trouble,” the reporter went on to say about the rap mogul currently facing charges in a sex trafficking case. “Would you ever consider pardoning him?”

“Nobody’s asked but I know people are thinking about it – I know they’re thinking about it,” Trump replied. “I think people have been very close to asking.

“First of all, I’d look at what’s happening, and I haven’t been watching it too closely, although it’s certainly getting a lot of coverage,” the president added. “I haven’t seen him. I haven’t spoken to him in years.”

Over the weekend, 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, stated in an Instagram post that he would persuade Trump not to pardon the disgraced rapper.

“He said some really bad things about Trump,” 50 Cent wrote on the platform. “It’s not OK. I’m gonna reach out so he knows how I feel about this guy.”

He doubled down on this promise in an Instagram post made on May 31.

“Donald doesn’t take well to disrespect, and doesn’t forget who chooses to go against him,” the rapper stated in this post. “While working tirelessly to make America great again, there is no room for distraction. He would consider pardoning anyone who was being mistreated, not Puff Daddy.”

The statement in 50 Cent’s original post quickly spread online. Some publications believed that his remarks were a demand for Trump to block a potential pardon for Combs.

Despite this, 50 Cent, who said last April that he would produce a documentary about Combs, explained that he just wants to share his personal views and “inform” the president.

The rapper reposted a headline of an article claiming that he “plans to nuke” Combs’ chances of getting pardoned.

“I didn’t say I would nuke anything, I simply said I would make sure Trump is aware,” 50 Cent stated in response to the headline.
