Will Ferrell has a well-earned reputation as the ultimate embarrassing dad and has once again proved his prowess in that department. This time, his son Magnus Ferrell has shared the delightfully mortifying tale of his father’s antics at his high school prom.

In a TikTok slideshow posted by Magnus, the 20-year-old “rated things” his famous father has done over the years. It wasn’t until the second slide that Magnus revealed his dad’s identity – the one and only Step Brothers star.

The hilarious image showed Magnus, dressed in a sharp gray suit, standing next to Will, decked out in full medieval lord attire – complete with a squire’s cap and a frilly ruff around his neck. “Dressed as a medieval lord to embarrass me at prom,” Magnus wrote, adding a “10000/10” rating. He captioned the post “true story.”

Unsurprisingly, the post’s comments section was flooded with surprised viewers who couldn’t believe Magnus was the son of the iconic Anchorman actor. One wrote, “I was like, ‘Wait, is that Will Ferrell… OMG HE HAS KIDS?'” Magnus cheekily responded, “He doesn’t know, that’s Chad Smith,” referring to the longtime joke about Will Ferrell’s uncanny resemblance to the Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer.

While some viewers thought Will’s outfit was actually “awesome” and made the prom experience better, Magnus made it clear that the embarrassment was real. “NO, I meant like I loved it!” he clarified when a commenter complimented his dad’s “wicked wardrobe.”

This isn’t the first time Will has gone to great lengths to mortify his offspring. Last October, during Trojan Family Weekend, the SNL alum made a surprise appearance at a frat party at the University of Southern California, where Magnus is currently a student. Footage showed Will enthusiastically DJing and getting the crowd pumped with tunes like Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger.”
