NYPD Blue alum Kim Delaney was arrested on Saturday on a charge of felony assault after an alleged domestic disturbance.

At 10:15 a.m. on March 29 in Los Angeles, Delaney, 63, was arrested following a “heated argument that turned physical” with her husband, fellow actor James Morgan. Paramedics arrived at the scene to treat any potential injuries either party might have before both Delaney and Morgan were taken into custody.

According to a spokesperson for the Marina Del Rey Sheriff’e Station, Delaney was charged with felony assault likely to cause great bodily injury, while Morgan was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence. Morgan posted bail for $20,000, while Delaney did not seem to qualify.

In 2011, Delany was escorted off stage after giving an incoherent speech at an award ceremony honoring then-Defense Secretary Robert Gates. She was also sued for a November 2022 hit-and-run.

Both Delaney and Morgan’s court dates are set for April 1.

Delaney starred in 137 episodes of NYPD Blue from 1995 to 2003, playing Detective Diane Russel. Her performance earned her an Emmy in 1997 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, and she was nominated for the same award in 1998 and 1999. She also played notable roles in Chicago Fire, CSI: Miami, All My Children and The O.C., among many others. Her most recent on-screen stint was the recurring role of Jackie Templeton in General Hospital.

Delaney has a history of trouble with the law, mainly concerning alcohol. She was arrested in 2002 for suspicion of drunk driving after she was pulled over for erratic driving and refused to take a breathalyzer rest. Delaney ended up pleading no contest and was sentenced to two years’ probation. She checked into a rehab center the year after. However, Delaney lost custody of her teenage son in 2005 after she was caught driving while drunk.

Morgan and Delaney celebrated their second anniversary together in October, according to Delaney’s Instagram.
