Ellen DeGeneres Finally Sells $5.2M Beach House After Moving To Britain Because Of Trump’s Election
The 1,691-square-foot, two-bedroom, two-bathroom beach bungalow property was listed for $4.995 million on March 10 and sold for $5.2 million on March 20. The couple purchased the house back in 2020 for $2.9 million.
According to the listing, the home, located near Butterfly Beach, features a spa-like bathroom with patios, a private courtyard, lush gardens, and soundproof fencing. Built in 1954 and remodeled in 2012, it is just one of DeGeneres and De Rossi’s many properties in the United States.
Rumors of DeGeneres moving out of the country circulated back in November 2024. An outspoken liberal, DeGeneres relocated to the United Kingdom after President Donald Trump’s election. The couple purchased an estate in the Cotswolds.
The following month, DeGeneres denied rumors about their new home being ravaged by floods in the region. “For those of you concerned, our UK farmhouse did not flood,” DeGeneres wrote on her Instagram. The clarification concluded a social media upload celebrating the 20th anniversary with De Rossi, “20 years ago today; we began this relationship not realizing what a long beautiful adventure this would be. You are the best thing that ever happened in my life.”
DeGeneres concluded, “So happy we get to travel and explore the world together in the next 20 years, and looking forward to our first snowy Christmas.”
The Daytime Emmy winner and De Rossi have been married since August 2008.
