Taylor Swift & Ed Sheeran Team Up For Collab On “The Joker And The Queen”
On Friday, Ed Sheeran released his latest collaboration with long-time bestie Taylor Swift, titled “The Joker and The Queen.”
This song and music video follow as a sequel to the singers’ first collaboration together in 2012 with “Everything Has Changed” off of Swift’s 4th studio album Red. The latest release reunited the child actors that starred in the pair’s original music video for “Everything Has Changed,” now finding themselves more mature and facing adulthood with all the challenges it brings.
Starring Ava Ames and Jack Lewis, the videos take us on their journey as lovestruck pre-teens in “Everything Has Changed” and who now find themselves navigating college life in “The Joker and The Queen.”
This new duet marks the 5th collaboration between the singers: “Everything Has Changed” (2012) and “End Game” (2017), followed by two songs featured on Swift’s Red (Taylor’s Version) released last year, “Run (Taylor’s Version)”, a previously unrecorded song and the first song ever written together by Swift and Sheeran, as well as a re-recording of their former hit “Everything Has Changed.”
Slowing it down for this track, Swift and Sheeran blend together beautiful harmonies and breathtaking vocals to give off the perfect ambiance to accompany this song. With lyrics like, “Then you went all in and we left together… / When I fold, you see the best in me,” they express the hardship and choices being made in relationships as you grow, and the love that keeps them together.
