‘Stranger Things’ Season 3 Breaks Netflix Record For Most-Viewed Series
The Netflix original Stranger Things has broken the record for the most-viewed series on Netflix.
Season 3 of Stranger Things was released on the streaming platform on July 4 and has been viewed more than any other film or series, after the first four days of its release.
Netflix announced on Twitter Monday that 40.7 million households have been watching the third season of the sci-fi show, while 18.2 million have completed the entire season.
Raymond James analyst Justin Patterson told NBC News he record viewership implies that the show’s new season has reached 26% of Netflix’s global paid subscriber base.

“This illustrates that originals are resonating with consumers and finding value with binge viewing,” Patterson said. “As content breadth and quality improve and drive more engagement, we see further pricing upside.”
The original Netflix series was created by brothers Matt and Ross Duffer. The show revolves around four male friends who enjoy playing Dungeons and Dragons, a fantasy role-playing game. However, when they encounter a girl with telekinetic powers and an alternate dimension with horrifying monsters, their lives changed.
