Sinead O’Connor’s Worrying Facebook Post
On Sunday, O’Connor took to Facebook to reveal that she had “taken an overdose” following poor treatment from those close to her, and claiming that had she not posted about her attempt to take her life, no one would have sought her out for weeks.
“I have taken an overdose,” O’Connor wrote. “There is no other way to get respect. I am not at home, I’m at a hotel, somewhere in Ireland, under another name.”
“If I wasn’t posting this, my kids and family wouldn’t even find out. Was dead for another fortnight since none of them bother their hole with me for a minute,” O’Connor continued. “I could have been dead here for weeks already and they’d never have known.”
Following the worrisome posting, Gardai Police sought out O’Connor and eventually located her, according to The Independent. She is now reportedly receiving medical treatment and is “safe and well.”
O’Connor had undergone a hysterectomy in August, which she mentioned in her Facebook message. In addition to battling her own poor health, O’Connor also noted the poor health of one of her children and ongoing drama involving her ex-husbands and coparents – Donal Lunny and Frank Bonadio – as well as her eldest son Jake Reynolds.
Ahead of the post about an “overdose,” O’Connor had taken to Facebook numerous times over the weekend to share her personal troubles. According to the “Nothing Compares 2 U” singer, she was in the midst of a custody battle and her children would soon becomes wards of the court.
