Richard Gere sported a captain’s hat as he stood on the deck of a boat on the set of his new film Franny in Philadelphia.

Gere, 64, shot the nautical scene in a pair of coral pants, a brown sweater and matching boat shoes. His look was completed with a black and gold cane, captain’s hat and round-framed sunglasses. Dakota Fanning was also on set on Tuesday, wearing a long blue skirt and an oversized cardigan while adjusting a fake baby bump.

Franny, written by up-and-coming screenwriter Andrew Renzi during the 2013 Sundance Screenwriters Lab, also stars Divergent actor Theo James. In the indie drama, Gere plays an eccentric “hedonist philanthropist” who meddles into the lives of a young expectant married couple played by Fanning and James, according to Deadline.

On the Franny set earlier in the week, Gere sported a completely different look than that of the preppy boater. On Monday, the actor donned a light blue plaid blazer with a yellow pocket square, a multi-colored and patterned neck scarf and orange sunglasses. Gere’s long white locks blew in the wind as he walked down a Philadelphia street.

Franny, which just started filming this week, is slated to have a 2014 release. Roy James Wilson (Dean Man Down, Distortion) also stars.
