Ivanka Trump is attempting to get out of testifying at her father’s ongoing civil trial alleging that he and his family wildly overvalued their assets between 2011 and 2021.

New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) filed the lawsuit against Donald Trump, his children and the Trump Organization in 2022.

An appeals court dismissed Ivanka from the case in June, but James’ office is still seeking her testimony and has issued subpoenas to multiple corporate entities associated with her.

In a filing on Thursday, attorneys for the former president’s daughter urged the court to throw out the subpoenas, arguing that the state courts have no jurisdiction since she is not a resident of New York anymore.

“The [attorney general’s office], which never deposed Ms. Trump, is effectively trying to force her back into this case from which she was dismissed,” wrote Ivanka’s lawyers in the filing.

James’ office filed a motion on Friday to pursue Ivanka’s testimony.

Meanwhile, Ivanka has been busy in Florida building a $34 million mansion in Miami with her husband, Jared Kushner, which insiders have dubbed “Mar-a-Lago 2.”
