As fans await Thursday's musical episode of Grey's Anatomy, series regular Sara Ramirez has given them a sneak peak at one of the tunes they'll hear on the show. Ramirez released her debut EP on iTunes on March 27, which includes "The Story," written by Phil Hanseroth and made famous by Brandi Carlile, which she will perform as Dr. Callie Torres on the ABC medical drama. The disc also includes three songs either written or co-written by the actress.

According to series creator Shonda Rhimes, Thursday's "musical event" will be a "Callie-centric" episode, after the doctor is involved in a life-threatening accident of her own. Along with Ramirez's take on "The Story," the hour will include Grey's favorites like The Fray's "How To Save a Life" and Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars," featuring the voices of Kevin McKidd, Chandra Wilson and Chyler Leigh, among others.

But Ramirez already has a severe advantage over her costars. The Grey's Anatomy star is also a Juilliard grad and a Tony Award winner, nabbing a Best Featured Actress in a Musical statue for her role as Lady of the Lake in 2005's Spamalot. Her EP is the first in what she hopes will be a successful career as a singer-songwriter. —EMILY EXTON
