Fox News’ Lisa Marie Boothe Was Denied ‘The View’ Hosting Gig Due To Vaccine Refusal
In another chapter of The View‘s struggle to cast a permanent conservative host, it was revealed that a frontrunner for the job, Lisa Marie Boothe, stopped being considered after she refused to get the Covid-19 vaccine as required by ABC.
Boothe, a Fox News contributor, was among several candidates considered for the role on the long-running Talk Show, but a source from ABC News confirmed to Politico that it would be a “moot point” to advance her hiring process any further after learning of her stance on vaccinations.
All employees of ABC News, and its parent company the Walt Disney Co., are currently required to be fully vaccinated against the coronavirus. New York City itself has also implemented a vaccine mandate for private-sector workers, which means even Fox News has to require vaccination in their New York offices.
In an October Fox News appearance, Boothe said she didn’t get her vaccinations “as a giant middle finger to Joe Biden’s tyranny.” She is based in Miami and recently revealed that she has tested positive for Covid-19.
The View has been experimenting with several conservative guest hosts after Meghan McCain’s departure from the show in August. Fill-ins have included former Presidential candidate Carly Fiorina, prominent Republican Condoleeza Rice, S.E. Cupp and Alyssa Farah. The View‘s current hosts are tired of the rotating guests and are upping pressure on show producers to secure a replacement.
The show offered the role to Fox News’ Kat Timpf, but she refused.
