Dave Chappelle Tests Positive For COVID-19, Cancels Upcoming Shows
Comedian Dave Chapelle tested positive for COVID-19 and subsequently decided to cancel upcoming shows in Austin Texas.
Chappelle’s representative, Carla Sims told reporters that Chappelle is now quarantined and does not have any symptoms.
He was scheduled to perform at Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater from Thursday through Sunday. Two of the shows included comedian Joe Rogen. Refunds are being issued to ticket holders through their point of purchase.
Sims said in a statement that Chappelle has safely conducted socially distant shows in Ohio since June of 2020. He moved those shows to Austin for the winter.
“Chappelle implemented COVID-19 protocols which included rapid testing for the audience and daily testing for himself and his team. His diligent testing enabled him to immediately respond by quarantining, thus mitigating the spread of the virus,” said Sims.
Chappelle has recently been seen with Rogan, Elon Musk, Grimes, Michelle Wolf, Mo Amer, Donnell Rawlings and Ron White at Stubbs.
