Katy Perry Halftime Show Memes Appear Like A “Firework”

Katy Perry is no stranger to the internet. With over 64 million followers on Twitter, the Grammy award winning singer has more than a little bit of notoriety on the web. So when she performed at the Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show, Twitter blew up with hilarious memes that lasted into the next morning, long after the Seahawks and Patriots finished their thrilling game.

When she came to the stage on a giant lavish lion to the tune of her single, “Roar,” many compared her entrance on the lion to that of the White Power Ranger. Her extremely bright flame dress was being looked at as similar to the attire worn by former wrestler Bam Bam Bigelow, Chester Cheetah, and Will Ferrell in Blades of Glory.

 

When she performed her chart topping smash, “Teenage Dream,” Perry danced alongside costumed Shark choreographers, and the Internet swiftly made Photoshop memes of the sharks, including comedy gems like this one having him appearing on the cover of Jaws.

Perry would change her attire for her song “Firework,” and sang the tune on a giant moving star, and the Internet flooded with 80’s ad campaign “The More You Know” memes.
