Actress Grace Van Dien, 26, who famously played Stranger Thing‘s Chrissy Cunningham, has taken a hiatus from her acting career following alleged sexual harassment from an unnamed movie producer, who she said invited her for a threesome.

Though the break probably will not be permanent, she said, she wants to enter the industry on her own terms.

“Here’s the thing: I’ve seen that some people are upset with me for turning down acting projects and deciding to stream more, but the fact of the matter is, the last few projects I’ve worked on, I didn’t have the best experiences with some of the people I had to work for,” she announced during a March 7 Twitch livestream, mentioning that she had turned down four movie roles in the past two and a half weeks.

She explained that her choice will be a step forward for her mental health after the recent incident.

Interactive streaming gives her the freedom to develop projects at her own pace and control, she noted, looking forward to seeking funding for her “own set.” These changing work priorities reflect a worthwhile pause while she waits for the right project ideas and people to work with, Van Dien wrote in a Twitter post.
