Jordan Cashmyer, a star of MTV’s 16 And Pregnant, died last week in Maryland at the age of 26 according to her father’s Facebook post.

“Last night I received a call no parent ever wants, ” wrote Cashmyer’s father. “My oldest beloved daughter, Jordan has passed away, she was only 26 years old. Our hearts are truly broken. No parent should ever have to go through losing a child, EVER. Please keep my family in your thoughts prayers as we navigate through this terrible tragedy. Please understand and respect our privacy at this time. We are surrounded by the love and support of our children, grand daughter Lyla and family members.”

Cashmyer appeared on 16 and Pregnant in 2014 with her ex-boyfriend, Derek Taylor, who is also the father of their daughter, Genevieve “Evie” Taylor. The couple’s struggles with homelessness, family criticism and unemployment were televised on the reality series.

The verified Twitter account for MTV’s Teen Mom, spinoff of 16 and Pregnant, shared condolences.

The cause of the MTV star’s death has not yet been made public.
