Appearing in person for the first time since he was freed from prison, Todd Chrisley has declared that he feels no remorse for his crimes.

In 2022, Todd and his wife, Julie, multimillionaires whose show Chrisley Knows Best ran from 2014 to 2023, were found guilty of conspiring to defraud community banks out of more than $30 million in fraudulent loans. After being convicted of tax evasion, the couple’s daughter, Savannah, lobbied the Trump administration to pardon her parents.

Donald Trump had Todd and Julie’s full prison sentences commuted on May 28, and they were released from their respective federal prisons hours later. On Friday, May 30, Chrisley addressed his pardon at a press conference in Nashville with Savannah beside him; Julie was not present.

Chrisley asserted, “Shame is like a cancer that just spreads, and I have no shame…I’d have remorse if it was something that I did.”

The Chrisley family announced their TV comeback, with Savannah saying, “We have a new show coming out on Lifetime, and it will document all of these things…And we’re excited. We literally could not have done it. It’s all God and President Trump at this point.”

Chrisley said, “We’re blessed to have our family back, and we’re blessed to be coming back to television because we do have a much bigger story.” He added that they will begin filming the new show immediately following their return home from prison.

When Chrisley was asked whether he was afraid of people thinking he and his wife were only pardoned because of their status, he replied, “I understand that that’s not something that you can look at and say, ‘Well, that had nothing to do with it.’ I don’t know if it did, because I wasn’t involved in the process, and if that’s the case, I don’t know how to address the fact that if it is the case, but I’m grateful to God for whatever reason it was that we were able to get the pardon in the first place.”

“The biggest misconception right now is that I either paid for a pardon or slept for a pardon,” Savannah told the crowd, and went on to assure that the pardon was the result of “countless hours, time and money,” as well as being “in the right room at the right time [with] the right people.”
