Canadian pop star Shawn Mendes has announced the release of his next album, Wonder, later this year on Twitter. The singer-songwriter has released one song and accompanying music from the upcoming record last week, available on Spotify and YouTube.

Mendes teased the October 2 release of a new single and December 4 release of his new album, both titled Wonder, on Twitter by the end of September. A short teaser trailer was launched alongside that gave a preview of music and scenery portrayed in a future video. Since then, fans were satiated with not only the single’s release, but a music video depicting Mendes singing across railway, forest and ocean landscapes. The video has racked over 14 million views on YouTube in just four days.

Mendes posted a handwritten letter to his fans, complete with script handwriting and scribbles over mistakes. In it, he describes the very personal nature of his latest work that was apparently a long time in the works. The letter reads, “It really feels like a piece of me has been written down on paper and recorded into song,” the post continues, “I tried to be as real and as honest as I’ve ever been. It’s a world and a journey and a dream and an album I’ve been wanting to make for a really long time.”

An interactive website was also made available to fans that allows them to move throughout the bedroom, seen in the video’s first act. Later scenes are depicted on old paintings strewn along the floor. Official merchandise such as vinyl and magazines are available through the official website.

An anonymous artist dubbed as “special guest” appeared on the album’s song list, fueling rumors about yet another potential collaboration with Mendes’ long-time girlfriend, Camila Cabello.
