Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley returned to host the Country Music Association Awards for the 10th consecutive time.

CMA AWARDS 2017 RESULTS

Garth Brooks took home the award for Entertainer of the Year for the second year in a row. “Getting this presented to me by the entertainer of a lifetime, I thank you,” he said to presenter Reba McEntire. “Miranda [Lambert] said it best, Little Big Town said it best: We’re a family. All you guys down here on the front row, we can all agree on one thing. Let’s all raise a toast… to the band and crew,” he continued. “I was talking to Kelsea [Ballerini] backstage about how we get to do this for a living… The most important thing other than God is you [fans]. I love you guys. We’re a family.”

Other winners included the Taylor Swift-written song “Better Man,” which the star wrote for country band Little Big Town. “We didn’t write this,” said bandmember Karen Fairchild onstage. “We’re really grateful that [bandmate] Philip [Sweet] checked his email one night and that song was in his email. We want to say thanks to Taylor Swift. She couldn’t be here tonight with us.”

Swift did, however, post a video to Twitter of herself watching the CMAs while in New York City for Saturday Night Live rehearsals and sent her love to the band.

The only artists to organically win more than one award were Brothers Osbourne with two, for Vocal Duo of the Year and for Music Video of the Year, for their song “It Ain’t My Fault,” as well as Chris Stapleton for Album of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year. Little Big Town also won Vocal Group of the Year in addition to Song of the Year, but that award technically belongs to Swift.
