Melania showed up at the first general election presidential debate in the chic Roland Mouret “Belvedere” off-the-shoulder stretch-knit dress. The tea-length number featured an asymmetrical neckline. Melania completed her look with black pumps and a box clutch.
“Tonight at the First Presidential Debate! #MakeAmericaGreatAgain,” Melania captioned a picture of herself with Donald at the end of the debate.
Melania has been more or less in the shadows in recent weeks of the campaign. While she appeared at the NBC Commander in Chief Forum earlier in the month and at the debate last night, she has not been speaking to the press. Since giving her partially plagiarized speech at the RNC over the summer, Melania hasn’t spoken out about her husband’s campaign.
During a recent interview with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show, First Lady Michelle Obama was asked if she was sympathetic towards political spouses who might not agree with with what their other half is saying.
“Bottom line is: If I didn’t agree with what Barack was saying, I would not support his run. So I stand there proudly, and I hope they are too—standing with their spouses proudly,” she said. “So no sympathy.”
The FLOTUS added of the controversy Melania weathered over her RNC speech, “Yeah, that was tough.”
