Rosie O'Donnell Gets Show On Oprah's Network
Now that Barack Obama’s 49th birthday party is over, Oprah Winfrey has turned her attention to Rosie O’Donnell. The queen of daytime, who will be leaving her hit show in September of next year to preside over her own network, OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network, has offered a O’Donnell the chance to once again host her own daytime talk show.
The former “Queen of Nice,” who hosted the Emmy Award-winning The Rosie O’Donnell Show from 1996 to 2002, and was a co-host on The View from 2006 to 2007, will return to daytime television after wrapping her own daily Sirius XM radio show, which she has been hosting since last fall. "Rosie is an undeniable talent who has captivated TV audiences for nearly 20 years," said Oprah in a statement. "She’s a true original, who brings her authentic voice, dynamic energy and pure passion to everything she does." –ANDREW BANKIN
