Audiences may have considered Jennifer Grey a sure thing on last season's highly rated Dancing with the Stars, but her physical condition made it touch-and-go for her during some of the weekly competitions.

More than once she complained of back pain on the program, and the season finale that showcased her anticipated victory also showed her wearing an ice pack under her costume to relieve pre-performance pain. It's turns out that the 50-year-old actress and DWTS champion ruptured a disc in her back during the competition, and is set to have surgery sometime this or next week, she told Access Hollywood. Still, Grey remains unfazed by the injury. "It's just gonna be like a little surgery where they take out the ruptured disc thing," she said.

This procedure must seem like a walk in the park compared to the multiple surgeries Grey has undergone for a neck injury that left her with chronic pain following a car accident in 1987. "Compared to the other surgeries I had on my neck, my doctor says it won't be a big deal," she assured. "I'll be home that night." –KIMBERLY STEELE
