Tim Allen has spoken out about ABC’s cancelation of his show Last Man Standing.
Allen has been the star of the show for six years, and tweeted that he feels “stunned and blindsided by the network I called home.” He and his co-star Hector Elizondo declined to comment on the cancellation to news outlets.
In a hilarious and bold move, Chrissy Teigen responded to the tweet with a joke of her own: “One could say you are *removes glasses* not the last man standing.”
Nancy Travis, who played Allen’s wife Vanessa Baxter on the show has been retweeting fans’ efforts to boycott ABC until they bring back the show. Many believe the show was canceled because of its conservative messages and because Allen is a Donald Trump supporter.
Amanda Fuller, who played the Baxters’ daughter, Kristen, shared an emotional note on Twitter, asking and thanking fans for their support. “To all the devoted Last Man Standing fans, thank you,” she wrote. “I believe in the power that lies in storytelling being a mirror to our world, representing all voices…and for that reason, I have always been proud and honored to be a part of Last Man Standing, the only sitcom today that I feel truly strived to do that.”
She included a link to a petition on change.org to keep the show around.
