Barton, 28, who played Marissa Cooper on the popular teen show that aired from 2003-2006, is $100,000 delinquent on her mortgage payments on her home in Beverly Hills, reported TMZ. The home, which Barton bought in 2005 for $6.4 million, sits on 1.2 acres and has eight bedrooms, 11 baths and three guest houses.
In 2009, two years after The O.C. went off the air, Barton took a $4.2 million loan out on the home. Since 2010, Barton has been trying to sell the lavish property but has been unsuccessful.
Barton has previously listed her home at $8.7 million with no luck selling it. Her latest effort was to lease it for $35,000 a month last year.
Since The O.C. wrapped, Barton has primarily done independent movies. She currently has 12 films that are completed or in various states of production.
