Sting Eyes 'One Last Big Match,' Hopes To Face Undertaker In WWE Ring
Sting (Stephen Borden), the World Champion Wrestling and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling star, wants to get in one final bout on the WWE stage – hopefully against longtime foe The Undertaker (Mark William Calaway).
Sting Wants WWE Match
Never before, in his three decades in the wrestling world, has Sting stepped into a WWE Ring. He is, however, the star of the WWE 2K15 video game and has voiced his desire to wrestle live for the organization before it’s too late.
"Why now? It's a now or never thing," Sting, 55, told the UK Mirror. "I've done so many things in the wrestling business but the one thing I'd never done was wrestle or be a part of the WWE family. I didn't want too hang it all up and retire and disappear again without having done that in some capacity."
Sting Vs. The Undertaker
The eight-time WCW World champion added, “I've made it clear I'd love to have one last hurrah, one last big match hopefully. And of course I've been outspoken about Undertaker being the opponent…. If he's not done, and he would consider doing it, I'd love to work with him one time. I'd love to wrestle him one time before I call it quits."
If the match between Sting and The Undertaker is a real possibility, it’ll likely take place at Wrestlemania 31 in 2015.
“Regarding Sting, there is a working idea that he does one WWE match and then retires, which everyone presumes at this point will be with Undertaker at WrestleMania 31 in Santa Clara,” wrote Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. “Whether this is made clear at Mania itself, at Raw the next day, or at some point closer to the show is unclear. Right now the only thing confirmed is the idea is Sting will do one last match [sic].”
