Hugh Jackman is claiming that Ryan Reynolds camped outside his house so that Jackman will star in the sequel to Deadpool.

Deadpool 2 is set for production in June 2017. The original Deadpool experienced wild success, after being made on a relatively small budget of $58 million. It’s been heralded as a “stylishly salty antidote to bloated recent superhero movies,” by NME, and became one of 2016’s biggest hits.

Reynolds Pushing For Jackman in ‘Deadpool 2’

How do you follow-up a low-budget superhero with ten times the expectation, especially when the first movie took 11 years to complete? One possible solution is to team Deadpool up with Wolverine star Jackman. Rumours have been swirling at the team-up between the two superheroes, with claims that Reynolds himself has been pushing for the pairing.

Deadpool 2 writer Paul Wernick stated, “To have [this team-up]? It would be amazing to have Hugh resurrect Wolverine in the Deadpool universe, and again, Ryan’s making a hard push to make that happen, and hopefully the public gets behind it and we can all convince Hugh to put the claws on one more time.”

Much to fans’ dismay, Jackman doesn’t seem to be on board with this idea. In a recent Facebook Live session, Jackman clarified the reality of the situation, poking fun at Reynold’s enthusiasm for the idea.

“No, and Ryan is currently sleeping outside my house,” the Wolverine star stated. “Look, if that movie had appeared 10 years ago, probably a different story, but I knew two and a half years ago that this was the last one.”

The highly-anticipated superhero movie is set for provisional release in early 2018.
