Ryan Dorsey is speaking out days after wife and actress Naya Rivera was arrested for domestic battery.

RYAN DORSEY SPEAKS OUT AFTER NAYA RIVERA ARREST

Former Glee actress Rivera was allegedly “out of control” on Saturday evening before she was arrested. Her husband called 911 after Rivera was “getting physical,” though reported that no weapons were present. Dorsey claims his father was also present, but that Rivera was not acting violently toward him.

“This is a difficult time for everyone in the family especially for Naya and I,” Dorsey, 34, wrote in a tweeted statement on Tuesday. “This isn’t some reality show, this is our life, and I ask that everyone especially ‘the media’ please respect our privacy and treat us/this situation how you would want a loved one to be treated. Perhaps with kindness, respect, without judgement, and as negative a situation like this is, with positivity and love. Thanks.”

In 2016, Rivera filed for divorce from Dorsey after two years of marriage. “After much consideration, we have made the decision to end our marriage,” the couple said in a statement. “Our priority is and always will be our beautiful son that we share together. We will continue to be great co-parenting partners for him. We ask for respect and privacy for our family during this difficult time.” The couple called off the divorce this past October.

Rivera was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery after she allegedly hit her husband while taking their 2-year-old son Josey for a walk. At the time, Dorsey said his wife “had struck him in the head and the bottom lip while the two were taking their child for a walk down the street.” According to an officer, he detained Rivera after Dorsey provided cell phone video evidence that the abuse had occurred.
