Jackson Mahomes, younger brother of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, received a sentence of six months probation after being charged with battery.

The 23-year-old pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge on March 7. Jackson was previously charged with three felony charges of sexual battery. A judge also sentenced Jackson to 120 days in jail. His jail time was suspended if Jackson adheres to his probation conditions.

Jackson’s lawyer Brandan Davies released a statement on March 9:

“Jackson is thankful for the support of his family and friends during the last year. Jackson pled no contest to a single count of simple battery and he was given six months of unsupervised probation. Jackson simply wanted the case to be over with and to move on with his life, the matter is now closed and we will not be issuing any further statements.”

The Mahomes family has repeatedly defended Jackson in the past. In 2023, Jackson’s sister-in-law, Brittany Matthew Mahomes, posted to Instagram, seemingly in support of Jackson amidst assault allegations.

Jackson is not the only member of his family to face legal trouble. In February, his father Patrick Mahomes Sr. was arrested on a DWI charge days before the Super Bowl.
