New ‘The Walking Dead’ Trailer Features Negan, Potential Spoiler

AMC released a new trailer for season seven of The Walking Dead that stirred speculation among fans.

The trailer featured much of Jeffrey Dean Morgan‘s Negan, the nemesis of Andrew Lincoln‘s Rick who appeared at the end of season six. Negan’s weapon of choice, his barbed-wire-wrapped baseball bat named Lucille, was also prominently featured in the trailer, as well as in recent ad campaigns.

Season six ended with Negan killing off one of the eleven main characters, yet it is still unknown which it was. AMC has been very careful not to put any of these eleven in their promotions for the upcoming season so as to keep the identity of the victim concealed.

Some fans, however, noticed a quick image of a man who looked like Abraham Ford, played by Michael Cudlitz, in this most recent promo. Many considered him to be a contender for Negan’s victim, but if the redheaded man in the trailer was Abraham, then he could not have been killed at the end of season six. However, with how careful AMC has been about this, some think it unlikely that the man in the trailer was in fact Abraham.

The Walking Dead returns Sunday Oct. 23 on AMC.
