Netflix is reviving The Magic School Bus with 26 half-hour episodes of a modernized version of the children's show, The Magic School Bus 360°, to premiere in 2016.

The Magic School Bus 360°

The Magic School Bus, of course, is the beloved animated, educational series that followed the adventures of Ms. Frizzle, an eccentric teacher who would take her students on magical field trips, on the magic school bus, to teach them science. Field trips included going inside the human body and exploring outer space.

The Magic School Bus, a Scholastic Media production, originally aired from 1994-1998, and is being rebooted as The Magic School Bus 360°. Though the character of Ms. Frizzle will still star in the show, it is unclear whether actress Lily Tomlin will return to voice everyone’s favorite teacher.

Netflix will be updating the show with computer-generated animation and a “modernized” Mrs. Frizzle.

“Parents trust it and kids love it,” said Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos.

The Magic School Bus revolutionized kids’ television through a unique and powerful blend of entertainment and science information. We’re proud that it’s become an evergreen show that children and parents continue to watch together. Our new rendition The Magic School Bus 360° is a similarly compelling addition to the current landscape of our children’s programming and on Netflix is bound to reach more families around the world than ever before who will now be able to watch the show anytime, anywhere they want,” said Scholastic Media President Deborah Forte in a statement.
