Miley Cyrus Confirms ‘Black Mirror’ Appearance, Talks ‘SNL’ & Ariana Grande With Howard Stern [VIDEO]

Miley Cyrus was interviewed by Howard Stern on his Sirius XM show on Wednesday, and the pop singer opened up about many subjects.

One of 26-year-old Cyrus’s biggest revelations was one that had been rumored for several weeks: that the “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” singer will appear in the upcoming fifth season of Netflix’s Emmy-winning series Black Mirror. No premiere date has yet been announced for the fifth season of Black Mirror.

Cyrus noted in the interview with Stern that she hasn’t yet actually said the show’s name yet because Netflix hadn’t explicitly given her permission to talk about her guest starring appearance on the dystopian drama series.

“If you guess it, then I will shake my head ‘yes,'” Cyrus told Stern.

Cyrus, whose Malibu home was destroyed in one of several wildfires that struck California earlier this fall, also talked about the tragedy with Stern and how she lost all her handwritten song lyrics in the blaze. Cyrus said she hadn’t been home at the time of the fire, as she was filming in South Africa. She also praised her boyfriend Liam Hemsworthwhom she called her “survival partner.”

The former Hannah Montana star also discussed her upcoming gig with Mark Ronson on this weekend’s Christmas episode of Saturday Night Live. Cyrus revealed that Yoko Ono and John Lennon’s 43-year-old son Sean Ono Lennon will join her and Ronson to perform Ono and Lennon’s 1971 classic Christmas song “Happy Xmas (War is Over).”

“It’s just so magic every time we sing it… goosebumps all over the place,” Cyrus said of her, Ronson and Sean Lennon’s version of the tune. The singer also hinted she may appear in a sketch on SNL this weekend. Cyrus was a musical guest on the comedy series just last year on Nov. 4, 2017, when Larry David hosted, and appeared in multiple sketches in that episode. The singer also hosted and served as musical guest for SNL’s Season 41 premiere in October 2015.

Cyrus also praised fellow pop star Ariana Grande on Wednesday after Stern asked her if she had talked to SNL’s Pete Davidson about his breakup with Grande after a short, whirlwind engagement that drew multiple headlines.

Cyrus said Grande — who recently won Billboard’s Woman of the Year Award and whose music video for her song “Thank U, Next” has drawn record views on YouTube — is “one of my favorite artists right now because the thing I really like about her… anything I’ve ever asked her to be involved in, whether it’s Happy Hippie, or working with young homeless kids she’s always there. So I can never say a bad thing about her because she’s always great.”

Grande and Cyrus collaborated in 2015 on a cover of “Don’t Dream It’s Over” by Crowded House.
