Michael Keaton Confirmed To Play Vulture In ‘Spider-Man’ Reboot
Actor Michael Keaton will suit up as Spidey villain Vulture in the new Spider-Man reboot.
MICHAEL KEATON TO PLAY SPIDER-MAN VILLAIN VULTURE
Director Jon Watts has described the new film as a “straight-up high school movie” and Vulture will be the main villain. In the comics, Vulture was the alias of Adrian Toomes who was an electronics engineer who created a suit that gave him the powers of flight and super strength. He turns to a life of crime to seek revenge on an old business partner.
“We’ve had a wish list, and most of them in the near-term are coming together,” said Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige while discussing the Marvel Cinematic Universe baddies. “Cate Blanchett is playing Hela in ‘Thor: Ragnarok.’ Michael Keaton’s Vulture in ‘Spider-Man’ is something. And of course, finally, we’re showcasing Josh Brolin’s Thanos [in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’]. We’re looking forward to that very much.”
Keaton played comic book superhero Batman in the 1989 rendition of the film and in it’s follow-up Batman Returns.
The new Spider-Man is set to hit theaters July 7, 2017.
