‘L.A. Law’ Star Blair Underwood & Josie Hart Marry In Lavish Caribbean Wedding
L.A. Law star Blair Underwood and Josie Hart married in the Dominican Republic at the Casa de Campo Resort & Villas.
The two have been friends for 43 years and have been together for a few years. They got engaged in November 2022.
Underwood detailed how involved he was in planning the wedding. He explained on social media that he is a “perfectionist,” so he made sure that everything was impeccable.
They hired a wedding planner, Theresa Calcos of Casa de Campo, who assisted the couple in organizing a pre-wedding welcome party and creating the ideal decor and ambiance.
The couple invited 100 guests to their intimate ceremony, including Malcolm-Jamal Warner and Kim Fields.
The menu was specifically selected to feature Dominican food, including grilled bacon-wrapped plantains, ceviche and coconut-breaded shrimp. The bride’s signature drink was included as well, which is Prosecco with grenadine.
Hart wore a custom-made two-in-one white dress, with a detachable overskirt. The gown included a trumpet silhouette, a cathedral-length train and had embroidery down the sleeves. It was designed by Nneka C. Alexander of Brides by Nona Couture Atelier.
Underwood’s look complimented Hart’s as he wore an ivory-colored evening jacket that featured silk jacquard patterning by ISAIA. He layered it with a linen vest and satin lapels. His pants and shoes also matched his ivory jacket.
The ceremony was held under an arch that was decorated with white roses and featured a scenic overlook.

After the ceremony, the couple enjoyed the reception with their family and close friends. DJ Germán Cabello of GCStar Punta Cana was hired to oversee the music selection. Their first dance was to the song “With You,” which was sung live by Tony Terry as a special surprise for Hart.
Guests enjoyed the lavish five-tier cake that was frosted with butter creme and had French Vanilla filling by Flor Reposteria. The night ended with fireworks that lit up the sky.
Hart and Underwood have known each other since they were 16 years old and have been friends ever since, but never dated until a few years ago. They were both married to other people, but after their divorces, they started seeing each other.
