‘Honey Boo Boo’ Star Mama June Arrested On Drug Charges After Domestic Dispute With Boyfriend Geno Doak

Mama June, real name June Shannon, and her boyfriend were arrested earlier this week for drug possession following a domestic altercation, according to reports.

Shannon, the 39-year-old mother of Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, faces charges on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Her boyfriend of three years, Geno Doak, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and domestic violence. 

Doak, 43, has a lengthy criminal record with priors like theft, burglary and criminal damage to property.

There has been no report as to what sparked the argument that led to cops being dispatched to the Alabama gas station.

Shannon came to fame in 2012 on the reality series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. She later appeared in the spinoff series Mama June: From Not To Hot, which spotlighted a makeover that included losing 300 pounds after gastric sleeve surgery. Season three premiered Friday.

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo was briefly a cultural phenomenon for TLC. The show was a spin off from the reality series Toddlers & Tiaras and spotlighted the family’s activities in McIntyre, Georgia. Although critics including Adam Levine lambasted it as contributing to the “Decay of Western Civilization,” the show was a hit among the public and lasted four seasons.

It was eventually canceled in 2014 after the shocking revelation that Mark McDaniel, Shannon’s boyfriend at the time, was a registered sex offender and served 10 years in prison for molesting June’s daughter, Anna, when she was 8.
