Entrepreneur and Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy forgot to mute his mic while on a bathroom break from a live X Spaces chat alongside renowned figures such as Elon Musk and US conspiracy theorist Alex Jones

The chat, which had an audience of approximately 2.3 million listeners, took an unexpected turn when Ramaswamy interrupted Musk to say, “Gentleman, I have to go.”

Musk had expressed his views on the reinstatement of Jones to the social media network.

As the session progressed without Ramaswamy, several participants noticed the unmistakable sound of rushing water in the background.

Jones humorously pointed out, “Someone’s got their thing open peeing. Somebody’s got their phone in the bathroom.”

When the recording of the Spaces chat was reviewed, host Mario Nawfal revealed, “Vivek, that’s your phone. But I am not able to mute you.”

Ramaswamy quickly realized the source of the sounds and promptly apologized for the mishap.

Musk chimed in, “I hope you feel better now.”

In response, Ramaswamy expressed, “I feel great. Sorry about that, guys.”

The incident triggered various reactions on X, where Musk added his own response, “I’m literally rofl rn”.

Users shared their thoughts on the incident; one user described it as a “legendary moment,” and another found it “pretty d— funny.”

Someone else shared their own experience, and related to the challenges of a live show, “random s— like that happens, LOL. I left the microphone hot once to come back to find my cat attacking it and meowing into it, LOL.”

Despite the embarrassment, many appreciated Ramaswamy’s ability to laugh it off.

The incident brought unexpected humor to the live X Spaces chat and captured the attention of millions of listeners with various reactions.

Ramaswamy, 38, is a native of southwest Ohio. His mother worked as a geriatric psychiatrist, and his father was an engineer at General Electric. They immigrated to the U.S. from Kerala, India.

Ramaswamy is no stranger to the spotlight. In a recent GOP debate, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley called him “scum” for mentioning her daughter. In September, he went viral for rapping with YouTuber Logan Paul.
