Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley called Vivek Ramaswamy a “scum” during the third Republican presidential primary debate on Wednesday night.

Ramaswamy, a biotech entrepreneur, poked fun at Haley in response to a question about banning TikTok, given the attention he has been receiving for using the platform while on the campaign trail.

“In the last debate, [Haley] made fun of me for actually joining TikTok while her daughter was actually using the app for a long time. So you might want to take care of your family first,” Ramaswamy said.

When Haley told him to “leave [her] daughter out of [his] voice,” Ramaswamy continued to say that Haley has her daughter’s “supporters propping her up.”

“You’re just a scum,” Haley shot back, cutting Ramaswamy off.

He continued to argue that the country must do more than “ban” the Chinese-owned app.

“We have to ban any U.S. company actually transferring U.S. data to the Chinese,” he explained.

He then made one more dig at his opponent.

“Now it’s popular to talk tough on China. When she was a U.N. Ambassador, she called them, literally her words, not mine, ‘Our great friend.’ You can’t be fair-weather fans of the right policy.”

Haley said that the comment in question was made during a set of negotiations between the U.S., China and Russia to impose “the largest set of sanctions against North Korea in a generation.”

“You,” she said to Ramaswamy, “would never have been able to get that negotiation done.”

Haley was recently in the news when former President Donald Trump sent her a birdcage after he dubbed her “birdbrain.”
