Ezra Miller made their first public appearance since their multiple arrests on Monday night. They walked the carpet at the movie’s Hollywood premiere of The Flash – and also made a short speech.
They identify as nonbinary and ask people to refer to them using they/them pronouns.
Miller made a speech where they thanked the other cast members and producers of the film. They specifically thanked their fans “for your grace and discernment and care in the context of my life and in bringing this moment to fruition.”
They continued to say, “Just the thousands of artists and workers who made this movie, everybody who supported us in our lives and in the world, and everybody who supported me in my life and in the world along this decade-long trying and very beautiful peregrination.”
Miller has had numerous issues with the law in the past few years including being accused of trespassing, theft, assault, harassment and more. They have been arrested several times for these various crimes.
It was questioned whether Miller would be able to keep their role in The Flash due to all of the legal issues.
At one point, Warner Bros said it was going “pause on any future projects involving Miller.”
Miller was able to keep their role and now stars as Barry Allen, who is the main character in the film.
Other actors star in the movie, including Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, Sasha Calle, Kiersey Clemons, Michael Shannon and more.
The Flash will be released this Friday in theaters.
