Emma Roberts, the actress known for he roles in American Horror Story and the Scream movies, has transformed her Los Angeles home into one reminiscent of a real-life dollhouse.

“Minimalism is not my strong suit,” Roberts told  Architectural Digest. “Every house I’ve ever lived in feels a little bit like a cabinet of curiosities…I loved the idea of making my very own grown-up dollhouse.”

Roberts said her goal was to create a home filled with cherished memories and love that would serve as a sanctuary for herself and her three-year-old son, Rhodes, whom she co-parents with ex-partner Garrett Hedlund.

In a video tour of her residence, Roberts highlighted a unique feature, the “doll wall,” located near her office. Each shelf has an array of collectibles from her childhood and discoveries made in adulthood. She enthusiastically showcased her beloved “drunk cowgirl” Barbie and Blythe dolls.

In a nod to her involvement in American Horror Story, Roberts playfully shared, “I hope that every night — that they’ll come wake me up. It would be so thrilling.” Moving to the living room, Roberts revealed her fondness for matching the fireplace with striped armchairs, as she believes a house can never have too many stripes, fringe or tassels.

The TV room holds a special place for Roberts and her son, as it is adorned with his toys and mementos from her childhood. The shelves display various dolls, while her childhood “timeout chair” is a conversation starter. Roberts proudly showcases her growing “shrine” dedicated to iconic musician Joni Mitchell.

In the kitchen, Roberts highlighted the center island, which she described as a delightful social space. The kitchen is adorned with vintage cereal ads and another cherished collection—her mugs, which feature Halloween and witch-themed pieces.

Roberts uses the primary suite’s floral patterns and pink hues to create a serene ambiance. The bathroom follows a similar palette and features “pomegranate-colored” tiles and vibrant pink accents in the curtains. Roberts revealed that her favorite retreat within the home is the freestanding bathtub, which offers a space for relaxation and self-care.

In 2011, Roberts told uInterview exclusively about what she learned from her aunt, Julia Roberts.

“You know, we don’t really talk about [acting] very much; I have to say, it’s funny when I see her because we’re both so busy,” she said. “It’s really about just spending time together as family not as like, we’re both actresses, let’s talk about acting. So, it’s nice that we can separate the two and just hang out as a family and not worry about work.”
