Austin Powers star Mike Myers made a rare public appearance at the American Film Institute Life Achievement Award Gala. On Saturday, Myers appeared with a buzzcut showing off his gray hair, a change from his usual long brown hairdo. The actor also sported a simple, sophisticated black and white tuxedo set.

The AFI Awards is the first public event Myers has attended over a year. Hosted at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Myers was seen taking photos with fans outside the venue. Actress Nicole Kidman was honored at the ceremony.

Myers appeared on stage in a gold masquerade mask and long black cloak during the event. The actor unveiled himself before delivering a speech.

Myers’ last public appearance was in October 2022 on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. His latest acting gig was in the mystery/comedy film Amsterdam as Paul Canterbury. The film also stars Christian BaleMargot Robbie and John David Washington as the three titular characters.

In the same year, Myers starred in various roles in the Netflix comedy miniseries The Pentaverate. In 2022, Myers said he was open to reprising his role as the famous ogre Shrek.

“I loved playing Shrek,” he said. “If I had to do one Shrek a year, I’d be thrilled.”

Rumors of a fourth Austin Powers movie have also circulated, but Myers has yet to confirm or deny these claims.
