After Donald Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., was slammed in a new magazine article, his girlfriend, Bettina Anderson, jumped to his defense.

Anderson, a Palm Beach socialite, was first seen with Trump Jr. in September while Trump Jr. was still with his longtime fiancée, Kimberly Guilfoyle. Despite photo evidence of him with Anderson, Trump Jr. and Guilfoyle upheld their relationship on a public front for a few months until they announced their separation in December. Within days, Trump Jr. confirmed his relationship with Anderson. The two have since made headlines for their performative displays of affection. 

The recent New York Magazine article in question dubbed Trump Jr. a “spoiled heir” and an “a—-”, “the most despised member of the family,” via an insider.

In a furious Instagram story, Anderson responded, “Rumors are started by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.”

Reposting the quote, she sarcastically wrote, “DEFINITELY an ‘insider’ VERY familiar with @donaldtrumpjr.”

Anderson went on to call Trump Jr. “The finest, loveliest, tenderest, and most beautiful and brilliant person I have ever known…and even that is an understatement.”

Trump Jr. also responded to the article on Instagram, writing, “Don’t get me wrong, I can totally be an a—– when I need to be…if you’re adversarial to my friends, my family, my country, MAGA, etc… but I think you’d be hard pressed to find a regular person who actually knows me that thinks that. There’s no wonder why these ‘sources’ are always anonymous. Man up, put your name to it, but we know you won’t because you’re cowards.”

New York‘s article also mentioned Anderson, calling attention to her history of liberal-minded social media posts in support of mask mandates and Black Lives Matter, and how she used to “look down” on the Trump family. The story conceded, “But everyone understands why a smart girl might hook up with a president’s son.”
