On Tuesday, Christina Applegate, who revealed her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2021, shared the details of her recent relapse on her new podcast, MeSsy, with fellow MS sufferer Jamie-Lynn Sigler

The episode focused on the significance of honesty and open communication in emotional and physical well-being.

In the podcast episode, Applegate candidly discussed the pain she has endured and particularly emphasized the severe impact on her legs.

“I’m in relapse right now, pretty bad,” she revealed. “I haven’t slept for 24 hours because my eye is doing something weird, where every time I close my eye to go to sleep, my right eye starts to shift like this.”

Applegate also shared the profound challenges she faces in her daily routine and disclosed that she has been unable to shower for three weeks due to the relentless pain and compromised circulation in her legs.

“My legs have never been this bad,” she said. “I don’t know what’s going on, like, no energy, legs are just done, like, can’t get circulation, I can’t get them to stop hurting.”

The actress opened up about her deep depression, which has intensified due to her relapse and the limitations it imposes on her ability to perform even minor tasks independently.

Following her MS diagnosis, Applegate was introduced to Sigler, who had been living with the condition since 2001, through their mutual friend Lance Bass. The two spent countless hours in heartfelt conversations over the phone and eventually created the MeSsy podcast.

In January, Applegate made a memorable appearance at the Primetime Emmys, accompanied by host Anthony Anderson, where she received a standing ovation from the audience. Although she displayed a more positive demeanor at the event, she humorously remarked on the audience’s reaction, “You’re totally shaming me with [my] disability by standing up.”
