Cardi B Arrested After Fight At NYC Strip Club In August, Charged With Assault & Endangerment

Cardi B turned herself in to police in New York Monday morning.

The Bronx-born rapper — who will be 26 on Oct. 11 — was charged with misdemeanor assault and reckless endangerment for an incident in August where she was involved in a fight at a strip club in Flushing, Queens, in New York City.

According to CNN, a police spokesperson said Cardi B — who was born Belcalis Almanzar — was “throwing chairs, bottles and hookahs [smoking pipes] in the club at 3 a.m.” at the Angels Strip Club on Aug. 29. Two female bartenders were allegedly the victims of the attack.

The rapper’s arraignment has reportedly been set for Oct. 29.

According to TMZ, the pair of bartenders claimed Cardi B assaulted them because she feared her husband, fellow rapper Offset from the band Migos, had cheated on her with one of them. One of the two women claimed Cardi B had started threatening her on social media since the summer.

“Cardi B ordered and committed violent assaults against my clients, and is being called to justice for her crimes. Apparently, she thinks her celebrity status puts her above the law, since she has bragged to multiple people and on social media that she orchestrated these vicious attacks,” said a lawyer representing the two bartenders in a statement shared by CNN. “But reality is setting in, as justice does not care whether her name is Cardi B or Carly B, and she will now answer for her crimes.”

Cardi B and Offset gave birth to their first child, daughter Kulture, in July.

This is the second fight that Cardi B has been involved with in recent weeks. Last month, the “I Like It” singer got into an altercation with Nicki Minaj at a New York Fashion Week event. Cardi B threw a shoe a Minaj in that incident.

Cardi B performed at the Global Citizen Festival in New York on Saturday. She is featured in Maroon 5’s hit song “Girls Like You,” which is the top-ranked song on Billboard’s Top 100 chart.
